Salford Quays heating and air-conditioning company Thermatic fired up for expansion
Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning company, Thermatic, is embarking on a recruitment drive and predicting a 25 per cent hike in turnover on the back of new client wins and a move into new markets.
The Salford Quays-based company said turnover for 2015 is set to top the £13m mark, up from £10m in 2014. Thermatic is also looking to add 15 new recruits to its 75-strong workforce to meet growing client demand.
The company provides heating, ventilation and air-conditioning solutions to industrial and commercial clients which include some of the UK’s best known brand names such as Pets at Home, Matalan, B&Q, A-Plant, Lookers and Fitness First.
Chairman Colin Tennent said the group’s air conditioning division has grown by 50 per cent in the last 12 months as a result of new client wins and increased business from existing customers.
Colin added that Thermatic has also moved into a number of new markets in particular social housing where turnover in that division is anticipated to increase from £3m to £4m this financial year.
Elsewhere, the group is capitalising on increasing opportunities within renewable technologies with income in the division expected to top the £3m market in 2016.
Thermatic was established in Stockport in the early 1970s and was a pioneer of gas fired, warm air and radiant heating. The company changed hands to its present ownership in 1997 and has since diversified to become the UK’s leading independent provider of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning services.
Mr Tennent attributes the group’s success to ‘sticking to what it does best’, its commitment to exceptional high standards of customer service and rigorous staff development and training.
He said: “Whilst a number of our competitors have diversified, at Thermatic we have stuck to our core business and, as a result, have unrivalled capabilities particularly in our air-conditioning division.
“We are also focused on attracting and retaining the best employees through our graduate and apprenticeship programmes with three fully qualifying as engineers in the last 12 months.
“It is exciting times at Thermatic which is poised for a period of sustained growth as the company further expands into new markets and continues to win business from new and existing customers.”
